3 things

1.      I am  Sorry I have been MIA from the Blogging World.  My big girl job that helps pay for all the races I want to run  for the bills around the house has taken over my life. Job security I guess.  I have a lot of reading to catch up on.  But I promise I will catch up!  And leave you some witty comment.  Please forgive me…

2.    Remember when I wrote that I was able to start running again?  Well on my second run my foot started hurting again.  Headed back to the Doc.  Had an MRI on Tuesday.  Back to Doc yesterday…. Torn Tendon in foot.  L  I am now in a cast and on crutches for the next 3 weeks.  But don’t feel sorry for me, I have already cried enough for all of us.  I am going to put a smile on my face and keep a good attitude, I hear that helps the healing process.  And there is a bonus, I know who would of thought… Killer Arms!

3.    Running, walking, anything you do on 2 legs is out.  Swimming is in. I will be in the pool a lot over the next 3 weeks.  I can also keep up with my strength training and ab workouts. But, I am in need of some advice as to what to do in the pool, so I don’t get bored.  I usually just swim laps.

What workouts do you do in the Pool?

Oh man!!!! I'm so sorry girl, I don't wish casts or crutches on anyone! I coulda sworn I told the running gods there'd be no more sacrifices after me this year! Geez! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and if you want a good workout tip for arms, get yourself the Nike Training Club app for iPhone if you have one!!!!

As for swimming, aqua jogging is great and if you can't handle the kicking do pull drills so you can still get in some cardio. (And work on your arm form!)

Sorry to hear you are injured! Could you try pool running as you get stronger?

And there's always the rowing machine at the gym :)

So sorry to hear about your injury! HOpe you are able to find enough to do in the pool to keep you going the next few weeks. I'm not a swimmer or a pool person, so I'm useless as far as giving any suggestions. Heal fast!!

Oh, Kittee ... so sorry to hear about your injury! I wish I had some pool advice for you, but the only exercise I get in the pool is playing with my kids. I hope your recovery is quicker than expected so you can hit the road soon!

I'm so sorry about your injury. That stinks. At least you have a positive attitude about what to do while you're waiting! You're gonna have some buff arms!

I don't swim, but I hope you get better soon. Get those awesome arms we all want!

Oh Kittee I'm really sorry about your foot! Love your positive attitude - buff arms sounds like a nice upside :) Wishing you a speedy recovery!

word. I sprained my ankle this winter. SWAM ALL THE FREAKING TIME. What do you want to do in the pool? Straight sets? Swim Golf? Pyramid swims? I mean, when I say I swam all the time, I mean like, from 5am - 6am I owned the YMCA pool. It was mine. Sorry old dude in the SPEEDO, that's (freaking) my lane.

I swam the IronMan distance one day, just because I had time and wanted to see if I could. usually though, i swam intervals. I called it a Hill Workout. I don't know what it's really called. I'm a runner, so sue me. This will be long b/c I don't know the "lingo", and um, my strategy for getting a good workout is slightly unorthodox!

500 warm up easy
100 HARD
50 EASY
(repeat until slightly nauseous)
25 all out
25 recover
(repeat until near vom - for me that would be 3 or 4 sets at most)
500 cool down easy

e-mail if you need instructions on "golf" or anything else.
